| Rainbows - Building for the Future | Rainbows Childrens Hospice has recently launched the 'Building for the Future' Appeal to extend, improve and modernise the hospice. This is the most exciting development that has happened since the hospice opened its doors in 1994. Since then 1000s of people have been cared for by Rainbows - life-limited children, young adults and their families. They turn to Rainbows when there is nowhere else to go and they find a place for living, full of laughter and comfort, a place with a home-from-home atmosphere and staff who care. The Youth Offending Service works with young people who are at risk of offending, or have offended and are involved in the criminal justice system. We will talk about the preventative work we do with young offenders, and what we do to try and address their risk factors which lead to them breaking the law. We will also talk about the work we are starting to do with victims of crime. |

| Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People | Rainbows Children's Hospice has recently launched the 'Building for the Future' Appeal to extend, improve and modernize the hospice. This is the most exciting development that has happened since the hospice opened its doors in 1994. Since then 1000s of people have been cared for by Rainbows - life-limited children, young adults and their families. They turn to Rainbows when there is nowhere else to go and they find a place for living, full of laughter and comfort, a place with a home-from-home atmosphere and staff who care. My talk explains how new apple types occur and will to describe the properties of the cultivars and tell some of the history of the origin of each tree. I am a founder member of the Leicestershire Heritage Apple Project, which was formed to save, propagate and protect Leicestershire Apples. The History of Beads. Beads spam the human experience and have been found at Neanderthal site, we will explore the history of beads through the ages. Mel started glass bead making to reconstruct Anglo Saxon glass beads and has reproduced beads for museums and individuals. Sharp Weapon Trauma in Archaeolgy - Looks at the evidence found in the bones where sharp weapons have inflicted an injury. Mel has studied human remain and fought with medieval weapons using techniques recorded in various manuscripts. |
